  • The Drakensberg Mountains are the highest in SA and range up to 3482m in height. The mountain range stretches over an area of 5000km².

  • The Worlds highest Bungee Jump is located at the Bloukrans Bridge in the Eastern Cape. It has a freefall of 180m.

  • The oldest known and largest crater on Earth is situated in Vredefort and is said to be 2.02 billion years old. An estimate of the original size is around 300km in diameter.
  • Tiffendel Ski Resort in the Eastern Cape is South Africa’s only ski resort. It is situated on Ben McDhui peak which is the highest peak in the Cape Province.
  • The oldest wine route in South Africa is the Stellenbosch Wine Route, established in 1971.
  • The Drakensberg has Africa's richest concentration of rock art.
