The North West Province of South Africa is bounded by neighbouring Botswana, the Free State, Limpopo, Northern Cape and Gauteng Provinces and includes the former homeland of Bophuthatswana. The Province is made up of the following 4 regions: - Central, Bophirima, Southern and Bojanala Regions.

Bojanala The Bojanala Region of the North West Province borders the bustling Gauteng territory and the northerly Province of Limpopo. This district is renowned for its scenic beauty, its wildlife reserves, cultural and historic attractions as well as its many adventure and leisure activities. The Bojanala Region is home to the well known Magaliesberg, Hartbeespoort Dam, Pilanesberg National Park and the neighbouring Sun City/Lost City entertainment complex.
Bophirima The Bophirima Region is the largest region within the North West Province. It was formerly known as the Western Region and shares its borders with Botswana and the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. This region has strong agricultural and mining influences and includes the world renowned heritage site at Taung.
Central The Central Region of the North West Province is home to the Capital City of Mafikeng as well as the renowned Groot Marico Bushveld area. The Central Region is predominantly an agriculturally wealthy area which borders the southern parts of neighbouring Botswana.
Southern The Southern Region of the North West Province borders the Free State and Gauteng Provinces and is greatly influenced by the flanking Vaal River. Although it is the smallest area in the Province, this region offers its tourists a world of outdoor adventure opportunities. The economy of the Southern Region is mainly based on the agricultural, mining and tourism industries.
