The Limpopo Province of South Africa, also known as the Great North, is named after the great Limpopo River which forms its northern boundary. This varied region is renowned for its many Game Reserves, Wildlife Conservancies, and the varied ethnic cultures that coincide within its boundaries. The Limpopo Province borders the neighbouring countries of Zimbabwe, Mozambique and Botswana and includes the northern parts of the World famous Kruger National Park. The Province is divided into the 6 regions of; Waterberg, Capricorn, Vhembe, Mopani, Sekhukhune and Bohlabela.

Bohlabela The Bohlabela Region of Limpopo extends along the eastern border of South Africa and Mozambique and is home to the celebrated Kruger National Park and the many private game reserves situated on its outer edge. This huge expansive region is primarily a rich and natural heritage of unspoilt wilderness, offering visitors a glimpse at true African wildlife. The Bohlabela Region includes the small town of Hoedspruit and the densely populated area of Bushbuckridge.
Capricorn The Capricorn Region of South Africa is named after the geographical line that passes through here and it is home to the City of Polokwane, the Provincial Capital. The largest citrus farms in the Southern Hemisphere are found here and this region is also home to the biggest independent church in Africa, the Zion Christian Church at Moria.
Mopani This phenomenal and diverse region of the Limpopo Province is home to many private game reserves, indigenous forests, fruit plantations and is the realm of Modjadji, the legendary Rain Queen. Named after the abundant Mopani Trees found here, the Mopani Region includes the eastern lowveld and towering escarpment areas of this district and borders the renowned Kruger National Park. This delightful and hospitable region offers its visitors a unique African experience.
Sekhukhune The Sekhukhune Region is situated in the southern part of the Limpopo Province and is predominantly a rural area. This district supports a thriving farming industry and is also rich in mineral resources. It shares its municipal borders with the Mpumalanga Province.
This region was named after King Sekhukhune, who was the King of the Marota or baPedi Tribe during the 18th Century.
Vhembe The Vhembe Region is situated in the northern part of the Limpopo Province and borders the countries of Botswana and Zimbabwe. This spectacular region is named after the traditional vhaVenda people that reside here and is home to the magnificent Mapungubwe World Heritage Site, the unique Soutpansberg and the northern parts of the renowned Kruger National Park.
Waterberg The Waterberg Region forms part of the Bushveld Igneous Complex which is considered to be one of the World’s geological wonders. Named after the magnificent Waterberg Mountain Range, this region borders the neighbouring country of Botswana. This district is renowned for the Waterberg Savannah Biosphere, the Nylsvley Wetlands, the many Game Reserves and incredible wildlife and the soothing hot mineral springs.
